Our Story

The 1911 Lounge strives to provide a unique spirits and culinary guest experience in the heart of Historic Downtown Medicine Hat. We have drawn inspiration from the prohibition era of the 1910’s to 1920’s while incorporating a modern twist in our drink and food menus. Our clear focus is to deliver an upscale lounge vibe with excellent food.

Hey everyone, I'm Tyson! I have been passionately working in Medicine Hat's restaurant industry for many years. We are so excited for this new adventure in the city's historic downtown. I look forward to introducing The 1911 Lounge concept to everyone I've met over the years and to offer an extraordinary lounge and culinary experience to all our guests. I can't wait to lift your spirits underground!



You've met some our of cocktails, now meet one of the brains behind it all! The owners of The 1911 Lounge are excited to introduce Danielle as the manager of this new venture. In a way, this is a homecoming for Danielle! While she grew up in Medicine Hat, Danielle has spent the last 7 years attending school, and experiencing the food and beverage industry from various angles, culminating in management positions of a vibrant bar on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. We look forward to our new, loyal guests getting to know Danielle while she works to execute our vision for The 1911 Lounge!


Head Chef

We are excited to have Curtis as our Head Chef who is leading the culinary experience behind The 1911 Lounge. He has been fine tuning his craft over the past 15 years and achieved his Red Seal in 2011. Curtis has described his technique as classic with a modern twist. We can't wait for all of our guests to experience the fantastic flavours that Curtis and his team will prepare on a daily basis!



I’m happy to be involved with Tyson in the restaurant business in Medicine Hat. We are all excited about our vision of an upscale lounge with fantastic food. Nothing goes better with food than wine, and we can’t wait to share our unique wine list with all of our guests, while we lift your spirits underground!
